Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. Day 01:
New Delhi: Pick-up and transfer to your hotel in Delhi. Day free to relax.
Day 02:
Shimla: Board the train to Kalka and thereafter board the connecting narrow gauge UNESCO World Heritage Kalka – Shimla train further to Shimla, it passes through beautiful scenery, bridges and tunnels. Check-in and at Shimla, evening is free to walk over the Mall road.
Day 03:
Shimla: Enjoy sightseeing tour of Shimla visit a few Colonial-era mansions including the Indian Institute of advanced studies. Evening free at leisure.
Day 04:
Kullu: Drive to beautiful Kullu Valley. Check-in and time is free to relax.
Day 05:
Kullu: Day long excursion to Manali. Visit the Hadimba Temple, walk through Old Manali, you may try some adventure activities on the slopes of Solang Valley. If weather permits, you may drive all the way up to snowline at Rohtang Pass and catch glimpses of trans-Himalayan scenery.
Day 06:
Kullu Valley: Day free to relax.
Day 07:
Palampur: Drive through forested Shivalik ranges of Himalayas and crossing the beautiful meadows and tea gardens of Palampur, reach Taragarh. Your stay will be in Taragarh Palace owned by the Maharaja of Kashmir, having beautiful interiors and stunning backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
Day 08:
Dharamshala: Drive to Dharamshala. On the way visit Baijnath Temple. Arrive at Dharamshala – place of Tibetan government in exile. Check-in at hotel and evening is free at leisure.
Day 09:
: Dharamshala: Enjoy sightseeing tour of Dharamshala and if lucky get an opportunity of being audience to His Holiness Dalai Lama.
Day 10:
Amritsar: Drive down to plains of Punjab and reach the Mecca of Sikh religion – Amritsar. Evening you may visit the Golden Temple to see ceremony of Palki Sahib – the procession of holy ‘Guru Granth’ to Akal Takht.
Day 11:
Delhi: Morning again visit the Golden temple and the massive community dining spectacle known as ‘Langar’. Also, visit the Jallianwala Bagh. Afternoon, board the train back to New Delhi. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 12:
Delhi: At appropriate transfer to Delhi airport for onward flight back home. Tour ends.
